does anybody have any advice over the follow pet training products? I found several training gadgets at target and ebay but didn't see any customer reviews so i am skeptical. The first is the talk to me treat ball where you can record a message on it for your dog and despenses treats. The other two are training devices like the ultra sonic no bark trainer, the instant pet barrier that is supposed to keep your pets off no no areas, and the other is a stay off pet alarm which is kinda like the one before i think. Anyway has anybody used these products and gotten good results? thanks!
What do you think about cockatoos as pets? Someone I know can't keep their cockatoo because they are very sick. She said I could have it and its cage for free. Anyone that can help with pet training come here!? Everywhere I look I see that people say you need to have treats to train your pets. I have a Siamese cat, and we all know that Siamese cats are either easy to handle or not. I have an easy to handle one. But she has an eating disorder. SHE EATS EVERYTHING. I cant leave anything out or she eats it. If you give her scraps from the table she bites your finger HARD, just to get the food! One thing is she hates treats. But if I give her regular food, and tell her to sit, she reaches up and swats at me. Or she stands up and bites me. I have no clue what to do. I need serious help!

A question for dog owners on training their pets........? I was at the dog park today and someones poodle puppy (6-9 months old) jumped on me. It is a super sweet dog, very, very, nice. The second time it tried, I lifted my knee and, of course, the dog landed on it. It stopped. A couple of people got really upset with me, and accused me of kicking it. They even lied and said they SAW me kick it. This was an absolute LIE! Here is the deal......if you don't train your dog, I WILL. I will not be the recipient of smeared dog park mud (i.e. feces, urine, and dirt). If your dog jumps on people, that makes YOU the rude person, NOT ME! People often ask me why my dog is so well behaved (and clearly NOT abused). Maybe it's because I trained him. My dog has been attacked many times before. When this happens, I attack the attacker, no ifs ands or buts! Either you be alpha with your dog, or I WILL. Pepper spray will knock the living crap out of a dog. I am tired of paying vet bills! Is your dog trained, or are you just another jerk? If another Akita (or any other agressive breed) attacks my dog again, it will be peppersprayed. I will not pepperspray a dog for jumping on me. Dog parks are an excellent place to train your dog. Do you UNtrain your dog at the dogpark? That will only confuse them, and make training more difficult. Be responsible please! Pepper spray is effective on owners as well. BTW Any reasonable person would have seen that I didn't abuse the dog. I typically like animals more than people.

Is it normal to have to put down a non-refundable deposit in a rented home for pets? The townhouse we are looking at has a $350 non-refundable deposit due for our medium sized dog and cat. How do I need to go about training my 3 year old young stallion? I have a 3 year old Tennessee Walking Horse who isn't really halter broke or anything, though he is a big family pet. I need to begin training him, at least with the basics so that I can ride him eventually. Should I get him gelded, or does it really matter? How much do you spend on your pets each month? On average- about how much do you spend on your pets each month? I just got a puppy in January and I have been spending money on him left and right! between vet bills, food, toys, doggie day care, training, etc. I have probably spent over $1500! How can I keep my 2 pups (who are crate training) from being SO rough when let out? I've got 2 pups, maybe 3 1/2 mths old that are crate training right now. With the exception of the occasional boo-boo, they are doing so wonderful with it. However, when I let the two out to potty, they roll & romp everywhere outside. They jump, growl, bite,...but it's obvious that they are playing. My problem? They're actually being trained to be inside pets. When we bring them in (after potty time) the playing doesn't stop. They are really rough and, almost, obnoxious. It's almost impossible to train them, in any area, as a pair. So I thought I'd let them out of their crates 1 at a time. I threw a blanket over the pup that was left in the crate & let the other out. The 1 in the crate just hollared, whined, & barked. So what do I do? I need them to calm down. It's so annoying!!! I want to play w/ them, but I don't let them out, as much as I'd like, due to this. Help...please. Thanks.

How do you train a jealous younger dog to stop bullying other pets? Hi, I have 2 cats and 2 Boston terriBLES. Both Bostons will harrass the cats when they are out of the crate, but the cats know where to go to get away from them. The younger Boston is a 1 1/2 years old male, the other is a 3 year old female. I love them both, they are generally great dogs....(destructive to the house, but they make up for it). The problem is, that the younger one, Baxter, is a big bully! He constantly harasses the Kali, the girl who has been here longer...she's so sweet natured that she allows it. She tries to get away from him, but he's always at her....chewing on her ears, trampling her, taking her toys/bones away....he won't let anyone give her any attention....he is the alpha pet. If I let just her out of the crate, and leave him in his....he flips out (constant barking and whining and knocking the crate all around). He's a very loving, affectionate pet otherwise, just very jealous and demanding! How do I train him to stop bullying? Thanks
