Hi there im looking for pets for therapy training classes in Glasgow and surrounding areas thanks?

I have a yorkshire terrier puppy 15 weeks and im looking fortraing classes to be able to enable us to to visit care homes hospitals etc for therapy for patients etc

2. Pets as therapy only takes puppies from 9 months, so they're mature enough. They don't provide specific training classes, but I would definitely recommend taking your puppy to a generic, basic training class. To be a PAT (Pets As Therapy) dog, your dog has to undergo an assessment by a vet or PAT representative. To pass the test, they have to be able to walk on a loose lead without a training aid (eg a harness), be touched all over and restrained without protesting, be groomed easily and not react in a negative way to new surroundings/experiences. After you pass the test, you're given information and tips for visiting clients, and then you can start. It's as easy as that! Good luck!
